SIMEST Spa, a CDP Group company 76%-owned by SACE, confirms ‑ for the eighth year ‑ its participation in the Graduation Awards initiative promoted by the Leonardo Committee.
A scholarship worth €3,000 is the prize that the company will make available for the best thesis on “Italian companies and international markets. Funding “Italian industry” to develop competitiveness” and issues related to competitive strategies for internationalisation, types of products and services offered by banks and other institutions to companies for the implementation of internationalisation strategies, approaches for companies to expand abroad, and the advantages and risks of internationalisation and merchant banking strategies in internationalisation processes.
“For the eighth consecutive year, we are rewarding young talents who, in their studies and their thesis, have analysed successful cases of Italian firms abroad”, said the Chairman of SIMEST, Salvatore Rebecchini. “Promoting Italy in the world is what we do every day by fostering the development of Made in Italy and Made with Italy, helping Italian companies – and especially SMEs ‑ to tackle the challenge of global markets”.
The Graduation Awards initiative of the Leonardo Committee, which was begun in 1997, has been an opportunity over the years to reward hundreds of young graduates and scholars of universities throughout Italy, thanks to the invaluable support of its associates.
The Leonardo Committee, today chaired by businesswomen Luisa Todini, was established in 1993 as a joint initiative of Sergio Pininfarina and Gianni Agnelli, of Confindustria, of the ICE and of a group of entrepreneurs with the aim of promoting Italy as an integrated economic system through various initiatives aimed at highlighting the qualities of entrepreneurship, artistic creativity, refinement and culture that are reflected in its products and lifestyle.
“The new generations represent the future engine of our economy and today we have a duty to leverage their talent, a resource of enormous potential to be protected and nurtured”, said Luisa Todini, Chairman of the Leonardo Committee. “It is also with this goal that the Leonardo Committee has promoted 20 editions of the Graduation Awards: thanks to this initiative we have contributed over the years to supporting the most promising ideas and creating a direct link between academia and the world of work, supporting not only today’s young people but also the entrepreneurs of tomorrow.”
