13 April 2018

Rome, 13 April 2018 - There are 102 Italian companies that - thanks to SIMEST - will soon enter foreign markets to promote their products. The company, which together with SACE forms the export and internationalisation hub of the CDP Group, in February and March 2018 granted €28 million in loans to Italian companies for commercial operations in 15 countries: Albania, Canada, China, the United Arab Emirates, Japan, Morocco, Russia, Serbia, Singapore, South Africa, Switzerland, Thailand, Tunisia, the United States and Vietnam.

The companies looking to expand in the United States, which have obtained soft loans to open or expand their commercial offices, include:

  • Tramite Srl, of Valdobbiadene (province of Treviso), a leader in the Italian food product sector, both in private labels and own brands (Tramite and Maggese). In the last year it has started the promotion of a new line of vegan products, specially developed to satisfy the tastes of US consumers, and - thanks to the SIMEST loan - will strengthen its presence in the American market. Tramite works with various companies, all Italian, and its main customers range from small discount outlets  to large retailers, primarily in Italy and Western Europe (Austria, Germany, England, France, Slovenia and Spain).
  • Curti Costruzioni Meccaniche Spa, of Castelbolognese (province of Ravenna) has been producing automated machinery and highly innovative subassemblies since the 1950s in various high-tech sectors, such as packaging for the pharmaceutical, textile and food industries, wire processing, aerospace and engineering. The company chose SIMEST to finance the construction of a new office in the Milwaukee, Illinois area. Curti is also supported by SACE, which guaranteed its supplies in Turkey and secured a loan to the company to support its international development plans.
